SummerWorks 2014

SummerWorks 2014 is winding down and we’d like to share a few reviews of our top picks from this year’s festival… BUT FIRST… SummerWorks has announced an exciting new international festival coming to our midst.

PROGRESS is a new festival featuring performance and ideas that launches February 4-15, 2015 – a perfect little getaway during those winter months! Apartnership between The Theatre Centre (1115 Queen St W) and SummerWorks, Progress features 8-10 international and national presentations selected by a group of rotating curators.

“I gathered a group of the performance thinkers who inspire me and I asked them what they felt Toronto needed to move forward,” explains the artistic producer, Michael Rubenfeld.  “The universal response was that we needed to find better ways to work together to have a larger conversation around performance ecology. And thus Progress was born.”

Stay tuned for the festival lineup which will be announced November 5, 2014.
