Neil LaBute’s FAT PIG find a home on Queen Street East

Fat Pig Poster Revised Final 5x7-1 Tom and Helen are getting together, this time in Toronto in FAT PIG, opening at the acclaimed little theatre Red Sandcastle on November 18th, 2015.

Tom, a stereotypical yuppie living in the big city, falls head over heels for Helen, a beautiful and vibrant librarian… who just happens to be plus-size… whatever that means.

Helen is hyper aware of the way people look at her and is brash in acceptance and response. She’s intelligent, gorgeous, and she’s got a great sense of humour. Why wouldn’t Tom fall for this gem? Well, Tom’s not the problem. His best friend Carter is. When Carter pesters Tom for details on his new catch, his meddling gets between Tom’s ears. Carter is the epitome of the narcissism and shallow outlook that Tom is trying to overcome. So what exactly will it take for Tom to stand up and defend the person he loves when it’s the opposite of everything he’s been taught?

fatpig_twitterFAT PIG runs from November 18-21 and November 24-28 at Red Sandcastle Theatre (922 Queen Street East @ Logan Ave). Showtime 8pm. Tickets available here.
